Welcome to
Oatman
Oatman is a former gold-mining boomtown turned Route 66 ghost town, sitting in the Black Mountains of western Arizona. Wild burros — descendants of pack animals abandoned by miners — roam Main Street, blocking traffic and accepting carrots from tourists.
The Oatman Hotel (1902) honeymoon suite is where Clark Gable and Carole Lombard stayed in 1939. Daily gunfights, dusty saloons, and the Sitgreaves Pass drive make Oatman the most cinematic Route 66 stop in Arizona.
