Welcome to
Kingman
Kingman calls itself the Heart of Historic Route 66, and the Arizona Route 66 Museum (inside the restored 1907 Powerhouse) is the most comprehensive Route 66 museum in the state. Mr. D'z Route 66 Diner has been a Mother Road photo stop since 1939.
From Kingman, the legendary Oatman Highway climbs through Sitgreaves Pass — the most dramatic original Route 66 alignment still drivable, with hairpin turns and views to the Colorado River.

Tips for Visiting Kingman
The Powerhouse Visitor Center has the AZ Route 66 Museum, Powerhouse Route 66 Museum, and visitor center under one roof — free entry.
The Oatman Highway (Sitgreaves Pass) is the most dramatic original Route 66 still drivable, but it is one lane with hairpin turns; allow 2 hours from Kingman to Oatman.
Mr. Ds Route 66 Diner is open all day; the milkshakes and burgers are local favorites.
