Welcome to
Lincoln
Lincoln is the only city named for Abraham Lincoln before he was president — christened in 1853 when then-attorney Lincoln drew up the town's incorporation papers and christened the town by smashing a watermelon (commemorated by the World's Largest Covered Wagon, a 24-foot wagon with a Lincoln statue).
The Railsplitter Covered Wagon, the Postville Courthouse (where Lincoln practiced law), and Heritage in Flight Museum are the Route 66 stops.
