Menu, signature dishes, and the kitchen
Breakfast at Juicy's is served all day, which is the appropriate practice for any restaurant in a Route 66 highway town. The signature breakfast offerings include the chicken-fried steak with eggs and hash browns (a robust portion suitable for substantial appetites), the Juicy's Skillet (a substantial mix of hash browns, eggs, cheese, peppers, onions, and choice of meat in a hot skillet presentation), the biscuits and gravy (substantial homemade biscuits with country gravy), and the various three-egg omelet options with extensive filling choices. Pancakes, French toast made with thick bread, and the standard egg-and-meat-and-potato combinations fill out the breakfast offering. Coffee is strong and refilled continuously.
Lunch is built around the Juicy's Burger — a half-pound beef patty, your choice of cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, on a toasted bun, with fries. Bacon, mushrooms, avocado, jalapenos, and various other additions are available. Other lunch options include the patty melt, the Reuben (corned beef from a regional supplier), the BLT, the club sandwich, various salads (the Cobb is the most popular), and the soup-and-half-sandwich combination that is the standard light-lunch option. Lunch prices typically $11 to $17.
Dinner adds hand-cut steaks (ribeye, sirloin, T-bone), grilled chicken (half-chicken with two sides, or chicken breast options), fish and chips (hand-battered cod with substantial fries), shrimp scampi over pasta, and rotating daily specials including meatloaf, pot roast, and seasonal Friday-night prime rib. Side options include baked potato, mashed potatoes with gravy, French fries, vegetable of the day, salad, and soup. Beer and wine are served with a respectable selection of American craft beers and a modest but adequate wine list. Dinner prices range $14 to $26.
