Welcome to
Needles
Needles is California's first Route 66 stop after crossing the Colorado River — a desert town that has greeted travelers since the railroad arrived in 1883. The 1908 El Garces Harvey House depot has been beautifully restored and serves as the town's centerpiece.
The Mojave Desert begins here, and Needles' Route 66 motels, diners, and the Colorado River swimming holes make it a classic first-night stop after a long desert drive.
