Things to Do
Dining Options
You cannot go to Nashville and not have at least one amazing meal while you’re there. So it’s important to fit in time for something to eat. If you’re an early riser, head to the Loveless Cafe, one of Nashville’s favorite breakfast spots. For lunch or dinner, grab some home cooked BBQ at Martin’s or Edley’s which are both located right downtown.
Musical History
Music and history are closely tied together in Nashville, so it’s hard to learn about one without the other. Two perfect spots for that are the Ryman Auditorium and the Johnny Cash Museum.
The Ryman Auditorium was home to the Grand Ole Opry for decades and still hosts musical acts weekly. The Johnny Cash Museum is a tribute to the man in black, his life, and the impact of his music on the world.
Nightlife
You can’t visit Nashville and not spend at least a little bit of time in one of its famous live music bars. A lot of people head to Printer’s Alley, which is full of small bars. Nature
If you don’t want to spend all your time in Nashville cooped up inside there’re plenty of opportunities to go out and wander. Cross the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, and you’ll get unparalleled views of Nashville’s skyline. And check out Centennial Park which has an incredible full-scale replica of the Parthenon, just as you’d see in ancient Greece!
Getting There
Nashville makes for a perfect road trip destination. It’s easily accessible by Interstates 40, which runs east to west, and by Interstates 24 and 65, which go north to south.
In around four hours or less, you can drive there from Atlanta, Birmingham, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Memphis. It’s the perfect stopping point!
