We all know Nashville is a cool city. This up and coming hub is no longer just known as the Mecca for all things country music. Now, there’s a food, art, sports, and culture scene that rivals many other smaller cities across the country.

So it’s no big surprise that Nashville is becoming a hot spot for travelers from around the world.

Another reason why Nashville is becoming increasingly popular? It’s really easy to get there. The city itself has access to three major highways and interstates, so it’s the perfect stopover on a long drive or road trip.

But, what happens if you only have one day in Nashville?

With so much to see and do there, you don’t want to miss out. We get that, so we’ve created a Nashville in a day itinerary that can help you get a great feel for the city that will fit perfectly in your allotted time frame.

Let’s get to it!

Things to Do

Dining Options

You cannot go to Nashville and not have at least one amazing meal while you’re there. So it’s important to fit in time for something to eat. If you’re an early riser, head to the Loveless Cafe, one of Nashville’s favorite breakfast spots. For lunch or dinner, grab some home cooked BBQ at Martin’s or Edley’s which are both located right downtown.

Musical History

Music and history are closely tied together in Nashville, so it’s hard to learn about one without the other. Two perfect spots for that are the Ryman Auditorium and the Johnny Cash Museum.

The Ryman Auditorium was home to the Grand Ole Opry for decades and still hosts musical acts weekly. The Johnny Cash Museum is a tribute to the man in black, his life, and the impact of his music on the world.

Nightlife

You can’t visit Nashville and not spend at least a little bit of time in one of its famous live music bars. A lot of people head to Printer’s Alley, which is full of small bars. The Bluebird Cafe is also a favorite spot and was on the tv show Nashville. And for a genuine honky tonk experience, check out Robert’s Western World.

Nature

If you don’t want to spend all your time in Nashville cooped up inside there’re plenty of opportunities to go out and wander. Cross the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, and you’ll get unparalleled views of Nashville’s skyline. And check out Centennial Park which has an incredible full-scale replica of the Parthenon, just as you’d see in ancient Greece!

Getting There

Nashville makes for a perfect road trip destination. It’s easily accessible by Interstates 40, which runs east to west, and by Interstates 24 and 65, which go north to south.

In around four hours or less, you can drive there from Atlanta, Birmingham, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Memphis. It’s the perfect stopping point!

Enjoy Nashville

We don’t have to tell you this twice. So many people visit Nashville for a day and end up falling in love with the city. We’re pretty sure you’ll feel the same way!
