Food & Drink
Milwaukee is often (rightfully) associated beer, and you’ll find plenty here. Take a tour of Lakefront Brewery, Sprecher Brewing Company, or Milwaukee Brewing Company to see how your favorite varieties of ale are produced.
Or, for a more unique experience, check out the bar-on-wheels known as the Pedal Tavern. That’s right — it’s a rolling pub that’s powered by up to 16 pairs of feet. Didn’t think you could burn so many calories while you consumed them, eh?
Grab an unforgettable bite to eat at one of the three area restaurants to win the prestigious James Beard Award. Lake Park Bistro serves up French fare, you’ll find a twist on local favorites at Sanford, and farm-to-table is what it’s all about at Braise.
Sports
Take me out to the ballgame … in Milwaukee, you’ll certainly have your pick of them! Head to Miller Park, home of the Brewers, for an old-fashioned baseball game (and maybe some bratwurst, too).
Or, if basketball’s more your style, take in a Bucks game at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Better yet, chill out at the hockey rink while cheering on the home team, the Admirals.
Museums
Big on bikes of the gas-powered kind? Downtown Milwaukee is home to the world’s only Harley Davidson Museum, which chronicles the history of the motorcycle brand and features more than 450 hogs on display!
Science lovers of all ages will be wowed by Discovery World, an amazing complex that explores the magic of the museum’s Great Lakes location, as well as space technology and more. There’s also an on-site aquarium that is home to creatures from around the globe.
For a more traditional museum experience, head to the Milwaukee Public Museum. With exhibits dedicated to the past of both the city and the world, it’s a family-friendly way to spend an afternoon.
Music
Catch a show at the Pabst Theater, a Milwaukee institution that not only hosts concerts from nationally-known bands and artists, but also live plays and musicals.
You might be surprised to learn that the largest music festival on the entire planet is held in good ol’ Milwaukee. Every year, locals and tourists alike flock to the shores of Lake Michigan to see bands and artists that represent nearly every genre during Summerfest. This year’s lineup includes the Rolling Stones, Florida Georgia Line, Stevie Wonder, Kendrick Lamar, and Ed Sheeran!
