World of Coca-Cola
See how the iconic soda is made, and get an in-depth look at the history of the soft drink at this exhibition that is sure to sweeten your day. If it has to do with Coke, you’ll find it here: sculptures, a theater, a demonstration of the bottling process, and even the vault where that secret and addictive recipe is stored.
Fernbank Museum of Natural History
Speaking of history, this institution digs deep into civilizations, cultures, and creatures of the past. There’s a distinct focus on dinos, with exhibits like Dinosaur Plaza and Giants of the Mesozoic taking center stage. However, you can also learn about how things used to be in the Peach State at A Walk Through Time, which recreates important eras from Georgia’s past.
CNN Studio Tour
Break into the breaking news scene at the home base of the cable news network. Guided tours are offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week, excluding major holidays. Early birds can also pop by at 8:30 for the Morning Express Tour, which provides a peek into the popular show with Robin Meade.
Georgia Aquarium
Dolphins, penguins, sea otters … oh my! See all of your favorite creatures up close and personal at this nationally-renowned attraction. This aquarium is something special indeed; it’s not only home to the largest viewing window in North America, but it also hosts the new Dolphin Tales show. This one-of-a-kind experience features live actors, an original soundtrack, and yes, those graceful mammals. Super-fans can even hang out with one of the stars of the show after the performance as part of the Dolphin Encounter program.
Six Flags Over Georgia
Let loose at this massive theme park! With coasters like the Great American Scream Machine, Mind Bender, and the Georgia Scorcher, and the Hurricane Harbor Water Park, you’d be hard-pressed to find an amusement park that comes close in terms of thrills.
