Natural springs can be wadded in, swum in, or just enjoyed for their natural beauty, it all really depends on what you’re looking for. It could be a day sitting in the hot waters looking for relief, relaxation and some time to destress. Or, maybe you’re looking for a quick dip as a way to cool off on a hot summer afternoon.

1. Dunton Hot Springs (Colorado)


This town used to be a typical Western mining area, until it was abandoned in the early 1900s. It wasn’t until the late 1900s that the hot springs became the central tourist attraction.

2. Hot Springs (Arkansas)

The springs are so popular here, the Arkansas town has been named for them. On Hot Springs Mountain you can enjoy any one of the 47 different springs that bubble up there.

3. Blue Springs (Florida)

Florida is known for having plenty of natural springs, so for a unique experience head to Blue Springs in Orange City, Florida to see the spring that is a designated manatee refuge.

4. Strawberry Park Hot Springs (Colorado)


Steamboat Springs, Colorado is one of the hot spots to check out some of Colorado’s natural hot springs. Strawberry Park is one of the the best for getting natural treatments too.

5. Dr. Wilkinson’s Hot Springs Resort (California)

Bubbling mud baths? If it sounds intriguing, then you’re not alone, people have been flocking to this Calistoga, California institution for over 50 years.

6. Barton Springs (Texas)


When the hot Texas sun starts bearing down on Austin, residents and visitors alike head to Barton Springs for relieve in the ice cold spring fed water.

7. Ginnie Springs (Florida)

Another favorite natural spring in Florida is Ginnie Springs located in High Springs. This one is a favorite among both cavers and open-water divers because of the crystal clear water.

8. Saratoga Springs (New York)

The Red Spring, mineral spring located in Saratoga Springs, NY

People have been heading to Upstate New York for over a century to enjoy the healing and refreshing waters at Saratoga Springs. Currently, there are 18 different springs to check out there.

9. Umpqua Hot Springs (Oregon)


Located inside the Umpqua National Forest in Oregon, this hot spring is tucked away in the beautiful evergreen forest, making for some incredible surroundings.

10. Jerry Johnson Hot Springs (Idaho)

For one of the more remote, yet no less popular, natural springs, head to Idaho and check out the Jerry Johnson Hot Springs inside Clearwater National Forest.
