Vail, Colorado

Vail Mountain Resort

Vail Village

Beyond the thousands of miles of ski trails, there’s a whole town full of shopping, nightlife, and dining to explore!  In addition, stroll the charming cobblestone, car-free streets, and take a free bus ride over to neighboring Lionshead Village. Here, you will find more food, fun, and boutiques. In the summertime, there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in Vail Village as well. Activities include hiking, golfing, and fly fishing in Gore Creek, which runs right through town.

Betty Ford Alpine Gardens

As it turns out, former President Gerald Ford and his wife Betty were frequent Vail visitors. Take in the beautiful flowers and plants at the world’s highest botanical garden, which has dedicated perennial and rock gardens, and waterfalls as well. All the way up at 8,200 feet, the gardens also boast fun events like yoga, live music, photography workshops, and more.

10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirit Company

If you’re looking for a change of pace from the typical brewery or winery, check out 10th Mountain, a hip distillery that offers tastings in a funky space. The distillery uses locally-sourced ingredients to make whiskey, vodka, and moonshine, all of which you can sip and sample right in the heart of Vail Village.

Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater

Another area venue named after our 38th president, the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater hosts a variety of performances, including national touring bands, theatrical, and dance shows. A concert series is the big draw this summer, with Rodrigo y Gabriela and Third Eye Blind headlining in August.

Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum and Hall of Fame

Full of artifacts from winters past, this museum is home to memorabilia from the U.S. Olympic Ski Team, Ski bindings through the years, and an exhibit dedicated to World War II ski troopers. While the museum is currently closed for renovations, they hope to be back in business and better than ever for the 2017-2018 ski season.
