Over the last few years, Denver has been one of the fastest growing cities in America. Of course it’s pretty easy to see why.

Blessed with incredible snow topped mountain views, 300 days of sunshine a year, and just steps from beautiful outdoor adventures, it’s got plenty for residents (and visitors alike) to take advantage of.

Denver truly is a city that can be enjoyed all year round, and if you’re a sports fan of any kind, well you’re in luck because there is more than enough to go around. Let’s take a look.

Take in a Game

Denver is home to a number of professional sports teams that can keep you cheering for the hometown favorites all year long.

Football fans will be able to take in football history with the Denver Broncos. If baseball is more your game, then Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies beckons.

For ice hockey fans, the Colorado Avalanche have been making waves in the NHL for years, and don’t forget about the NBA’s Denver Nuggets or MLS soccer’s Colorado Rapids.

Tour a Brewery

The Mile High City is well known for it’s love of beer. So if you want to experience any of the local breweries, microbrew spots or brewpubs, you’re in luck!

The brewery founded by Gov. John Hickenlooper, Wynkoop Brewing Company, is just blocks from Coors Field as is Great Divide Brewing Company.

To tour the big boys of the industry, then look no further than Golden, Colorado, home of Coors, which offers self guided tours and tastings to guests.

Get Outdoors

Historic Red Rocks Amphitheater

You can’t go to Denver without exploring some of the great outdoors just outside your door, you can hop in the car to check out some amazing nature, or enjoy right in the city.

A favorite of locals and visitors alike, try kayaking at Confluence Park, biking some of the 850 miles of local trails with Denver B-Cycle, strolling in the Denver Botanical Gardens, or taking in the Old West at the Four Mile Historic Park.

To explore further afoot, head to the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater and Park (if you’re lucky, catch a concert), or take the 70 mile trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Getting Around

Home to Denver International Airport, right outside the city, Denver is a hub and easily accessible from all over the country and abroad.

There is plenty of easy and accessible public transport for visitors, called the RTD for short, including an extensive bus and light rail system that can get you pretty much anywhere you need to go.

Of course to take in more of the local surroundings, a car is always a good idea, since there is plenty to explore in the outskirts of Denver as well!

Have Fun

Any trip to Denver will create many memories for years to come. Once you spend a little bit of time in this bustling and beautiful city, you’ll understand why so many people love it.
