Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and although some may be spending the weekend with their significant other, others might enjoy spending quality time with their best girlfriends. There’s not much that beats a fun getaway weekend with your favorite girls, especially when you get to spend it in a beautiful and world-famous destination. On the top of our list for this year’s Galentine’s Day getaway, we are heading to sunny Orlando, FL. Not necessarily for the theme parks – but to discover the beautiful and exciting downtown Orlando.

Where to Stay

Whenever we are planning a weekend with our girlfriends (especially Valentine’s weekend) we are going to choose the most swank hotel in the city – the Grand Bohemian Orlando, of course! This art inspired hotel will give you every reason to spend your getaway weekend in the hotel. Enjoy a day out at their heated rooftop pool with gorgeous views of Downtown Orlando, or maybe relax for a few hours in their lavish Poseidon Spa. Don’t leave without browsing through their very own art gallery, featuring mind-blowing works of art. Even though the Grand Bohemian Orlando is in the heart of downtown Orlando, one of the city’s finest bar/lounge and restaurant is also located right in the hotel. Stop in for a cocktail while chatting with your girls and listening to the smooth sounds of a live pianist.

Where to Play

What is one thing girls love to do the most? Shop, of course! While you’re in town, make a stop at The Mall at Millenia. Enjoy a perfect combination of high-end designer stores and your secret favorites (Forever 21, we won’t tell anybody). Spend the afternoon shopping and dining at one of their excellent restaurants.

In the mood for a concert or broadway play? The Dr. Phillips Center is Orlando’s latest and greatest attraction bringing famous acts to the Central Florida area. Check their schedule if your favorite band or musician will be in town during your stay.

Once you’ve shopped, or spent the day at the pool, it’s time to party! Orlando’s famous party strip, Wall St., in downtown Orlando is closed off to vehicles, and turns into a block party every night. Grab a few drinks and dance at some of their best spots – Hooch or The Other Bar.

Where to Dine

When you’re hungry for an unparalleled dining experience in downtown Orlando, The Boheme restaurant is sure to satisfy. Enjoy a one-of-a kind meal in their edgy but chic dining room. We can assure you, you’ve never dined in a restaurant quite like The Boheme.

Kres Chophouse is not your ordinary steakhouse. Kres prides itself in being a creative and modern steakhouse, while still honoring the classics, but not afraid to cross the traditional boundaries of what is expecting of a high-end steakhouse.

When is sushi a bad idea when you’re grabbing dinner with your girlfriends? Shari Sushi is a staple to downtown Orlando. Enjoy fresh and creative sushi in a modern atmosphere. Browse through their cocktail menu and choose one of their signature cocktails to pair with your meal.
