June 19th is the big day for the big guy in your life, and it’s not too late to plan a weekend getaway to celebrate all he’s done for you. Try one of these towns for an easy and fun vacation you’ll both enjoy.

Hilton Head, South Carolina

Beach at Hilton Head

Does dad’s idea of the perfect day involve hitting the links? Hilton Head is unofficially the golf capital of the country, with more than 20 championship courses in the area. This oceanfront town is also the quintessential beach community, too, with white sands, warm blue waters, and a ton of delicious seafood spots.

Chicago, Illinois

Navy Pier, Chicago

Hot dogs, baseball, and all sorts of old-fashioned fun. This tried-and-true Midwestern city is as down-to-earth as it gets. Catch a Cubs game at famous Wrigley Field, or stroll over to Navy Pier, a popular spot for food, rides, and people-watching. Sneak some culture in with a visit to one of the area museums, like the Museum of Science and Industry, The Field Museum, or The Chicago History Museum.

Key West, Florida

Beach on Key West

Whether your pops is the thrill-seeking type or just wants to take it easy by the pool with a cold one, Key West is synonymous with relaxation. Of course, there are all of the typical tropical and outdoor adventures: scuba diving, parasailing, biking, and even shark tours. However, Duval Street offers plenty of entertainment of its own, in the form of lively bars and restaurants.

Asheville, NC

Downtown Asheville

While Asheville may have a reputation as a hipster haven, it’s also home to a number of craft beer breweries, most of which offer complimentary tours (with samples!) to visitors. Hiking is also a popular pastime here; take your pick from hundreds of trails that cross the Blue Ridge Mountains, or head to the Biltmore Estate Trails or Bearwallow Mountain for an easy day trip.

Scottsdale, Arizona

Dudes deserve to be pampered, too! Treat dad to a spa day specifically tailored for guys like him with a visit to We Do Men, a “male concept” spa in Scottsdale. Of course, the city has plenty of other guy-centric activities, too. Hike at one of the area trails in Pinnacle Peak Park, or the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The Penske Racing Museum and McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park are unique Scottsdale attractions that are worth a visit, even if you’re not into cars or trains.
