It’s the trip movies are made about and lips are promised to stay sealed about…the illustrious Vegas road trip! Whether you’re running away with your sweetie to tie the knot, hitting the strip with a group of girlfriends or going solo with plans of hitting it big, Las Vegas is a must. In a town that never sleeps you can certainly find something for everyone, regardless of your itinerary.

Depending on where you live, the amount of time you have, and your budget, the actual road trip itself will vary. Regardless of where you’re coming from, research and pick your routes carefully, dependent on travel time, where you’d like to stop (and possibly sightsee along the way) and the availability of gas stations, hotels and rest stops. This is obviously much easier today thanks to GPS and the Internet. After you figure out your route and travel time, you can start planning out the fun stuff like music, snacks, games, etc. Make sure to check your oil and tire pressure before you go, and keep a close eye on your gas tank during the trip.
In terms of accommodation, Las Vegas has it all. There are over 150,000 hotel rooms within the actual city itself, not including the outlying smaller areas with plenty of accommodations of their own. It’s better to plan ahead and find a place that meets your wants and needs in terms of location, amenities, and budget, but if you’re traveling on a whim, you shouldn’t have to search too hard to find a spot to sleep. Whether you’re working with $50/night or a budget with no end in sight, Vegas has something right up your alley.

Once you’re all settled in, it’s time to explore! While the casinos and clubs are what the city’s known for, don’t underestimate the plethora of other sights and attractions Vegas has to offer. Take a day trip to visit the Grand Canyon, catch a burlesque show or see if there are any conventions in town worth checking out. Make sure to bring your swimsuit–the bolder, the better! Whether you check out a haute pool party or spend a day lazily lounging poolside, you’ll definitely want to escape that brutal Vegas sun.

The great thing about a trip to Las Vegas is how easy it is to plan or completely not plan out your trip. Either way, you’re guaranteed to have a blast. Remember–what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!
