While the state of Florida managed to bypass Hurricane Isaac without getting anything more than some wind and rain, other states have endured a bit more. With the hustle and bustle of Back to School activities, many people have simply forgotten about hurricane season. In fact, if you find yourself vacationing on a tropical island in the middle of June, you may not even be aware that hurricane season is alive and well. That’s right, hurricane season is from June 1st to November and those living and visiting in and around coastal areas should be well-versed on preparing for the arrival of a hurricane. Too often, situations end up disastrous because very little to no preparation was done ahead of time. We have a few suggestions that we think you should keep in mind as you travel in and around hurricane-prone areas.
Thanks to technology, traveling has gotten so much easier. Long gone are the days of pulling out compasses to determine which direction you’re going in.
