Mother’s Day is May 12th this year and this is your official reminder to do something sweet for the mom in your life. And we don’t mean shower with cards, flowers and cards. Let’s face it, you’ve gotten by with doing that year after year. Why not try something a little more fun with Mom? Isn’t she worth it? Check out some of the cool ways we plan on showing our mothers, grandmothers, mothers-in-law and stepmothers how much we love them.
Take Mom kayaking – It’s lowkey enough to be relaxing but also physical enough to where Mom will feel like she had a nice little workout. Plus, nothing says bonding time more than drifting off on a lake with your Mom.
Take Mom to a painting class – Most Moms are creative beings in some way so let her express it with a little paint.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!
Jingle Bells? Seriously, in July? Absolutely! Busch Gardens Tampa Bay revealed their brand new Christmas Town to the media in July and we were able to get a sneak peak. It’s never too early, in my opinion, to start thinking about old St. Nick and what size bulbs we’ll use this year. Beginning November 30th and running until December 23rd, Busch Gardens will be opening a magical Christmas Town that will transport you to what we all wish Florida was like during the holidays. It will be open in the evenings only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from 6-11 p.m.
Just about all cities, big or small, will have some kind of Christmas celebration. It’s a staple and pretty massive affair for some cities whereas others tend to not make a big deal out of theirs. Most parades are filled with plenty of holiday cheer, good eats, the lighting of the city’s Christmas trees and a ton of family-friendly activities. We’ve done our research and found some of the best Christmas parades across the U.S. If we happened to miss your city, let us know so we can add it to the list!
National Christmas Tree Lighting
Location: Washington, D.C.
If you happen to be in our nation’s Capitol during this time of year, we think you should make some time to stop by this ginormous tree and the twinkling lights that are displayed all over it.
Spanish Fork City Annual Festival of Lights
Location: Spanish Fork, Utah
Spend $7 and enjoy a beautiful festival of lights with the family. There’s no need to park the car and walk around as you can simply drive through a beautiful display of lights and Christmas decorations.
