Think you’ll be finding yourself in the Orlando area in the next few months? Be it for a family vacation or business meeting, visiting Orlando can be a ton of fun, even if you don’t plan on visiting any of the the theme parks. We recently received a reader email asking us about some fun things adults can do while visiting Orlando. Here are just a few of our picks.
CityWalk: Nestled right in front of Islands of Adventures and Universal Studios, CityWalk is the perfect spot for adults looking for some after-hours fun. With restaurants like Margaritaville and Bob Marley, CityWalk has enough to keep everyone in your group entertained for hours. Enjoy a drink, see a movie or get your dance moves on all without spending a ton of money.
Park Ave: If you really want to venture out of the touristy area and hang out where the locals are, you’ll love Winter Park’s Park Ave. This mile-long strip is family-friendly during the day but becomes a bit more adult-centered at night. Restaurant speakers get cranked up and many of the eateries become lounges and bar-focused. The Park Ave area is a great place to hang out if you want to bounce around to several different restaurants.
Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Finding it hard to leave the Walt Disney World area but still want to have a fancy grown up meal? We recommend dining at the illustrious Victoria & Albert’s restaurant at the Grand Floridian. Make a reservation, get yourself all dolled up and prepare to be amazed by the delicious award-winning selections from the chefs at this restaurant. Wine lovers will love the pickings and everyone in your party will leave satisfied.
The Spa at the J.W. Marriott: Just a few miles from the Orange County Convention Center lives the beautiful J.W. Marriott. Whether you’re there for a conference or for a vacation, this hotel has so much to offer but it’s really their spa that takes the cake. Enjoy a wonderful massage and facial and then take a dip in the hotel’s large floating river.
Golf: Of course you can golf anywhere, but Orlando has some of the most beautiful golf courses in the state. Visiting a golf course at a resort is fine and convenient but if your call is to do as the locals do, try visiting a golf course outside of the tourist areas.
